Tefillat Haderech / The Traveler's Prayer...

Here is a beautiful little prayer I think of before traveling.
First in English and then Trasliterated Hebrew, then in Hebrew Text.

May it be Your will, Adonai, My God and God of my ancestors, to lead me, to direct my steps, and to support me in peace. Lead me in life, tranquil and serene, until I arrive at where I am going. Deliver me from every enemy, ambush and hurt that I might encounter on the way and from all afflictions that visit and trouble the world. Bless the work of my hands. Let me receive divine grace and those loving acts of kindness and mercy in Your eyes and in the eyes of all those I encounter. Listen to the voice of my appeal, for you are a God who responds to prayerful supplication. Praised are you, Adonai, who responds to prayer.

The Dark Side...

Do we dare say that the moon is two pieces? The light part and the dark part? To do so would make a person look to be a fool. Everyone knows that the Moon is one entity and it's relationship to the light that creates the apparent division. We look at our self and see two (or more) parts, separate pieces that stand alone, a light side and a dark side, the funny and the serious, the virgin and the whore. The truth is that the division is just an illusion, a construct of our unwillingness to intergrate it all into one. It is a trick of the light of our minds. Also powerful, is the reinforcement for this behavior we get from society. Only acceptable if we act not as we truly are, but only what the time and place will allow us to be without pain of punishment in all its ugly forms. What would happen if we saw everything as it is... One complete and undivided unity of energy. With little ripples and eddies that make up more influential parts of space in time. We are a swirlin...

Mourning the Death of the Path...

We are the product of our path though the universe. The sum total of the life we have lived to each moment. The stream of events and interactions of our entity with the universe. We are confronted with little decisions every moment, one could say that life is a continuous decision. The persistent choice. These little decisions lead to other little decisions leading to others and so on. Our path started before we were conceived and the effects of our path will linger on even after our bodies have dissolved. We are sensory creatures, we experience the world around us with limited capabilities. Our eyes only detect a certain wavelength of radiant energy. Our ears only tell our brain about a certain range frequencies. Our touch has a minimum resolution. Then we have a range of detection of events, we only can know what we can bring into our minds from the sensory systems. You tell me something, but you are on the moon, odds are I won't hear it. And if I don't hear it, I won...

The wave crashes...

Today I saw the wave, it was a slow moving rise in the ocean. As it approached, I could feel the water pull toward it, like a massive breath in. Then the swell, it was incredible, from low to high, the power was impressive... I am watching the life of a soul drawn in to its own rhythm. Breathe in... Breathe out, it is such a simple concept but at the same time such a powerful and critical pattern. So here I breathe, as my soul crashes upon the shore. I am the wave, I am the ocean, I am the rhythm of life. The patterns of survival. It is all here and at the same time, everywhere. What should I say, is it contrary to the natural patterns to want more? To seek the truth of the patterns. To find the source of the pain. All I want is a day filled with light, to have the clouds not rain down on me, but to feel the warm sun on my shoulders. The light of the star telling me it is okay, that I can move on and that tomorrow will be brighter than today. It is too much to ask? H...
